Steve Madden and Dolce Vita launch second-hand shoe marketplaces

The US fashion brand Steve Madden and the New York shoe brand Dolce Vita are launching the US reseller platform Recurate, founded in 2020, as peer-to-peer resale marketplaces for shoes. Dolce Vita’s Re:Vita goes live on February 22nd on the Dolce Vita website. Steve Madden’s Re-Booted launched January 10th on the Steve Madden website.

The resale programs give Steve Madden and Dolce Vita customers the opportunity to sell their used shoes directly on the brands’ respective websites.

“Shoes are one of the fastest growing sectors of resale and we are excited to partner with two of our first footwear brands, Steve Madden and Dolce Vita,” said Adam Siegel, co-founder and CEO of Recurate. “At Recurate, we aim to simplify resale for brands and consumers in all areas and price ranges. Steve Madden and Dolce Vita are two iconic brands taking a big step towards circular economy and we are proud to work with them to bring peer-to-peer reselling to their customers.”

Using Steve Madden’s Re-Booted and Dolce Vita’s Re:Vita, users can submit their own product photos, descriptions and select a suggested price for their items, which are then authenticated and approved by the respective brands to appear on the resale site. The perks of selling through these channels also include the ability to see original product photos and see the exact colors and styles of the shoes. Vintage items older than the current catalog may still be sold individually with the seller’s photos.

If the item sells, users will receive a prepaid shipping label that will be used to ship the item to their nearest home. Once the buyer has verified the condition of the item, the seller will receive a credit.
