Hospital staff have announced a strike. There is anger about the wage offer from the employers.
According to the trade union FNV, the employees feel left out in the cold. “The only thing that is asked is to maintain purchasing power and reduce the workload. So that the groceries can be paid for and the wonderful work that is being done is sustained,” says director Elise Merlijn.
Healthcare workers have been under pressure for years, and the corona crisis has added to that. The shortage of personnel in the sector has been a major problem for a long time.
