Spotify is to remove their music

Joni Mitchell shows solidarity with Neil Young: The singer has announced that she no longer wants to make her music available on Spotify in the future if content that downplays Corona is still available on the streaming service.

On her website, Mitchell stated that she would have her music removed from Spotify. “Responsible people spread lies that cost lives,” is her reasoning, with which she probably refers, like Neil Young, to the podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience”, which reaches eleven million listeners. “I express my solidarity with Neil Young and with science and medicine.” In addition, she referred to one open letter, written by 270 scientific experts on Spotify. It calls for a policy against false information to be set up for the streaming service.

The popular US comedian had repeatedly spread misinformation about vaccinations and the corona virus in the past few months, which brought him a lot of criticism, but also praise from lateral thinkers and system critics.

Neil Young’s songs have mostly disappeared from Spotify

Meanwhile, it’s looking pretty sparse on Neil Young’s Spotify artist profile. His discography has shrunk to just a few tracks after Warner Music and Universal, among others, supported the artist in his decision. And according to them, Joni Mitchell’s songs will soon no longer be available.
