On Friday and Saturday January 28, 29, 2022 is the first student LH³ project HEARING(&)UNDERSTANDING successfully took place in the Villa Brahms. The series of events was initiated by students of music collegethe Technical University and the University of Luebeck. Three professional directions met and complemented each other: the musical with the music theory, the technical with the hearing aids and the medical. The aim was to provide information about hearing loss and to raise awareness of how to deal with those affected in everyday life.

From short scientific lectures, poetry slams, interviews with the hearing-impaired and the world premiere of two compositions specially developed for the project, an entertaining and informative program arose, which was very well received in the Hansensaal. Due to the aggravated pandemic situation, only 30 guests were allowed per event. However, the intimate setting was good for the sensitive topic and encouraged the audience to ask their own questions and to actively participate in a guessing game about the cochlear implant. In the context of the project, those involved have already made a variety of contacts with those affected and self-help groups, which give hope for a continuation and further development of the project.
