Sky News: Britain’s words about “pro-Russian leader” in Kiev are based on US intelligence data

The statement of the British Foreign Office about Moscow’s plan to establish a pro-Russian government in Ukraine is based on information from American intelligence, reported Sky News journalist Deborah Haynes on Twitter.

“The UK Foreign Office’s statement about Russia’s plans to install a pro-Kremlin government in Kiev is based on US intelligence, not UK intelligence,” she tweeted.

London has previously stated that it has data on the desire of the Russian authorities to “install a pro-Russian leader in Kiev.” One of the possible candidates of the Foreign Office considers the ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Yevgeny Muraev. Since 2018, he has been under Russian sanctions.

The British Foreign Office claims that Russian intelligence maintains links with many former Ukrainian politicians, including former First Deputy Prime Ministers Sergei Arbuzov and Andriy Klyuyev, former Prime Minister Mykola Azarov and former Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Volodymyr Sivkovich.
