Minister Siluanov: there is even an argument about heating water in the discussion of cryptocurrency mining
The market for cryptocurrencies and mining remains “gray”, and the task of the authorities is to regulate it, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov insists. In the discussion about the industry, even arguments about heating water are used, but it will be difficult to agree with the Central Bank

It will be difficult for the Ministry of Finance to agree with the Bank of Russia on what should be done with cryptocurrencies – to regulate or prohibit, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said at a briefing.
“Unfortunately, we do not yet have a common understanding with the Central Bank. I think that it will be difficult for us to achieve such an understanding, but we are trying. And the Central Bank [готов] find some points of convergence. On those positions on which we clearly have disagreements, we will try to regulate in accordance with the current procedures, ”said the head of the Ministry of Finance. There is a procedure for removing disagreements through a special table, which will be considered by the government, he recalled.
Cryptocurrency is a volatile instrument with risks, and “it is necessary to limit the opportunities for unqualified investors to use this instrument as an investment of their resources,” Siluanov believes.
The Ministry of Economy proposed to tax the withdrawal of cryptocurrencies into rubles
“We can ensure traceability of him (the investor. — RBC) actions, including calculations. This is much more correct than the situation that exists today. When we do not know how many there are – 12 million, 19 million, 5 million participants in this market. The fact is that the market is gray, so if you provide control, you can identify the participants, and we want to do this. And those who will be engaged in shadow calculations and so on – [ими] it is necessary to deal with law enforcement agencies,” the minister added.
