Short track star Schulting also wants Olympic gold at 1500 meters

Suzanne Schulting hopes to win her fourth Olympic title on Wednesday. The Dutch will compete in the 1500 meters on the last day of the short track tournament in Beijing. Xandra Velzeboer and Rianne de Vries are the other two participants of TeamNL in the final distance, which starts at 12.30 PM Dutch time.

Schulting previously won gold in the 1000 meters and with the women’s relay team. Four years earlier, the now 24-year-old Friezin won her first Olympic title in Pyeongchang, also in the 1000 meters.

Like Schulting, long track speed skater Irene Schouten is currently on two Olympic titles in Beijing. While Schulting has her last chance at a third gold medal on Wednesday, Schouten has it on Saturday at the mass start.

The Dutch short track men will ride the B-final on the relay on Wednesday, after they previously missed a place in the A-final by two thousandths of a second.

With the exception of the short track speed skaters, the athletes of TeamNL have no competitions scheduled for the Olympic Games on Wednesday.
