Despite the result stuck at 0-0, the final match between Young Boys and Basel was anything but peaceful, with an episode which featured two old acquaintances from Serie A: on one side the former Inter player Xherdan Shaqiri and on the other the former Atalanta, Verona and Spezia player Ebrima Colley. The Swiss from Basel, while protecting the ball, elbows the Gambian, who had previously pushed him repeatedly. The referee intervenes but decides to “pardon” Shaqiri, who was only punished with a warning.
