In the night from Monday to Tuesday there were chunks of concrete on the A1 near Ugchelen. Earlier it concerned objects on the A50 at Klarenbeek and Beekbergen. The police say that one of those reports was about a large piece of stone “or other debris.” In total, the police of four nights know in July in which people on the highway rode against or about objects. It may have happened more often.
Nobody was injured in the incidents, but vehicles were damaged.
Strong suspicion for intent
Rijkswaterstaat has a very strong suspicion that the objects have been thrown down there. “This is a life -threatening action. It is very risky for people who drive there with more than a hundred kilometers per hour. If someone is deliberately working here, then that is something to worry about,” a Rijkswaterstaat spokesperson told NOS.
The police ask witnesses to report. “It is more than striking that this happens in similar places in a short time,” the police say further. More research is needed, also to determine whether in all cases the objects ended up on the highway.
