The Mossos d’Esquadra They have activated at six in the morning this Tuesday a device to arrest all the people involved in the fatal stabbing suffered by a young man in the Paral·lel avenue in Barcelona. There are almost a dozen arrested. Most of those investigated are young and of Dominican nationality.
The events took place in the early morning of October 30, when several customers who were leaving the Brisas nightclub got into a fight in which two young Moroccans ended up seriously injured by a knife. One of them died on the sidewalk and the other was taken to a hospital by an ambulance from the Sistema d’Emergències Mèdiques (SEM).
The death of the victim was captured by the mobile phone of some clients of the nightclub who witnessed the brawl. In that recording, which is not the one that accompanies this news, the victim is seen, injured, breathing with great difficulty after being stabbed. The young man is lying on his back, on the sidewalk. Around him there are several people. One of them records it directly, from a point of view from which it follows that she doesn’t do it by hiding, but by placing the phone on it. Some comments are heard from witnesses who are next to the boy who warn that he “is going to die”. This happens after a few minutes. In the video, which lasts only a few seconds, it can be seen that nobody helps him.

One day after the murder, the Mossos arrested a 19-year-old for his participation in the events. The investigators only had indications that he had participated in the fight, although they did not know the degree of his involvement. According to the police sources consulted by this newspaper at the time, the investigation remained open and that arrest was simply another step to follow the trail of the rest of the group.
This Tuesday morning, after four months of investigation, the Mossos have arrested all those they consider to be the perpetrators of that death, whose causes have not yet been clarified. One of the hypotheses that was considered at first was that the two victims They would have tried to rob one of the club’s customers and this would have triggered a furious response from several acquaintances.
The Catalan police do not consider those investigated as members of a criminal group, but rather young people who acted together in that fight against the two victims and caused the death of one of them.

The Brisas nightclub, whose demolition is already planned by the Barcelona City Council, has been implicated in two homicides in the last five years – in February 2018 and October 2022 – and has been the regular scene of discussions or violent confrontations that have exasperated to the residents of Avenida del Paral·lel. On Saturday, November 12, two weeks after the stabbing death of the young Moroccan, the Mossos activated a device that broke into the nightlife establishment while customers were dancing inside. The Catalan police deployed that operation after, only in the month of April, there had been three riotous fights. In June there was a fight with a person arrested for the crime of injuries. In August another person was arrested in another fight and a second was injured after being attacked with glass bottles. In mid-September there were two other fights in which one person was arrested and, at the end of October, the young Moroccan was killed.
The operation lasted more than two hours and resulted in the arrest of one of the clients who had an outstanding arrest warrant. Another 11 clients were also denounced administratively for possession of narcotic substances, it was proven that there were nine minors consuming alcohol and that an unauthorized access controller worked in the business. Inside the premises, in addition, several bladed weapons were located.

The Barcelona City Council reported, after the crime in October, that the Brisas nightclub is affected by a special urban improvement plan, approved by a plenary session held in January 2022, and that it will imply its imminent demolition and the construction of a student residence.
