Serie C. Toh, Ancona beats Reggiana and reopens the championship

In Group B, after seven wins in a row, the leaders fall 2-1: now Cesena, 4-0 against Siena, is four points behind

Message to the championship, on the Saturday dedicated to group B: Reggiana is not unbeatable. Ancona shouts it out loud, stopping the first in the class at Del Conero (2-1) after seven victories in a row and undefeated since October. The signing on the success of Colavitto’s team – which in 2023 travels at a record pace – comes from Federico Melchiorri, who landed in January on the planet Serie C to make the difference: in eight days he scored four goals, today a brace (the first center from a penalty) which overturns the initial advantage of the Bulgarian Andrea Hristov (then sent off in the final, when Perucchini saves the result first on Laezza and then on Pellegrini). Ancona thus isolates itself in fourth place and also does a favor to those preceding it. Cesena, in fact, getting rid of Siena (4-0) goes back within four of the top and completes a perfect week with three wins, ten goals scored and zero conceded: two newcomers from the transfer market like the former Gigi Silvestri and Mustacchio scored , in addition to the home jewel Stiven Shpendi who even reaches five goals in the last three games (in the middle, Raimo’s own goal). Entella is also shortened to the top, minus six, who continue to believe in direct promotion – the word of president Gozzi -: the 2-0 at Fermana is the result of the entry into the field of Leonardo Morosini, who took over from Meazzi in the middle of the second half and author of the decisive brace. Gubbio, who hadn’t won since 17 December and did so in Rimini (1-0) thanks to the opportunism of the Arena which exploits a defensive error by Allievi, is back to smiling. In sixth place, behind the Umbrians, there is Pontedera – who also have a game to recover, on the Vis Pesaro field – in their first success of 2023 against Alessandria (2-0) thanks to two transfer market signings winter, the former Trento Ianesi and the former Novara Peli.

All-Tuscan challenge

Second consecutive victory for Carrarese, who won the all-Tuscan challenge with Montevarchi (1-0): at the end they decided with a great right foot from outside (second consecutive goal) by Schiavi, thus crushing the resistance of the guests already in ten to the half now for the expulsion of the other Argentine Mussis, making his debut as a starter. One point each between San Donato Tavarnelle and Vis Pesaro (1-1): Marzierli opens, equaling Vis in the second half with Di Paola’s header on an assist from Valdifiori. In the 0-0 draw between Recanatese and Imolese, the hosts with Carpani had a penalty saved by Rossi at the start and hit the crossbar with Guadagni. Even (1-1) also between Torres – who hasn’t won at home since November – and Lucchese: guests ahead in the second half with Panico, it was Scappini from the penalty spot who restored the balance (in the last quarter of an hour, Lucchese ten for the expulsion of Merletti). Salvation blow for Olbia, who narrowly pass Fiorenzuola’s field (1-0) thanks to Ragatzu’s coolness from eleven meters who thus reaches double figures of goals this season (Tabbiani’s team hits the woodwork with Piccinini and claims for a alleged penalty foul).
