Ski World Cup, Mixed Team
Strong comeback is not enough: DSV eagle miss medal
05.03.2025 – 5:50 p.m.Reading time: 1 min.

After a mixed first round, the German mixed team made a strong comeback. However, it was just not enough for precious metal.
The German ski jump-mixed has remained without a medal for the first time in the history of Nordic Ski World Championships. In the line -up of Katharina Schmid, Philipp Raimund, Selina Freitag and Andreas Wellinger, the quartet of the German Ski Association (DSV) in Trondheim, Norwegian, did not come across four. Germany had previously won the competition five times after Bronze in 2013.
This time the German team failed primarily on a mixed first round, which only took fourth place and a considerable gap to third place. In the second round, especially Raimund and Wellinger showed strong jumps and made it scarce again, but it was no longer enough to jump on the podium.
This time Gold won hosts Norway. Anna Odine Strøm, Marius Lindvik, Eirin Maria Kvandal and Johann André Forfang dominated the competition and were in the lead after all eight jumps. Silver went to Slovenia around world champion Nika Prevc in front of Austria’s quartet. In view of the strong men Jan Hörl and Stefan Kraft, the team had even dispensed with four-hill tour tour Daniel Tschofenig.
For the German ski jumping team, the fourth World Cup decision in Trondheim was the first without a medal. Previously, Friday and Wellinger had won silver medals in singles and the women around Friday bronze in the team from the normal hill. In the team jumping of men on Thursday (4.20 p.m. in the live ticker at T-Online), Austria and Norway are favored.
