Football coach Sean Payton has announced his retirement after 16 years as head coach of the New Orleans Saints. The Saints made it official.
Under the 58-year-old, the NFL team won the only Super Bowl in its history in 2009. That season—the first since quarterback Drew Brees retired—the Saints missed out on making the playoffs.
