Saakashvili sang the anthem of Ukraine at the trial in Tbilisi

At the next court session on Wednesday in Tbilisi, the ex-president of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili sang the anthem of Ukraine.

During the consideration of the Case of the Jackets, the prosecution came to the conclusion that Saakashvili used budget money during his presidency to purchase jackets, coats, paid for his son’s studies, did cosmetic procedures, rented expensive cars and planes, and purchased wristwatches.

The prosecutor accused Saakashvili of spreading lies, urging the judge to take appropriate action. The judge had to ask the ex-president and his lawyers to calm down several times.

Saakashvili finished his speech to the anthem of Ukraine, he sang the anthem, holding the Ukrainian flag in his hands.

As you know, the ex-president was detained in Georgia on October 1. Earlier, he was convicted in absentia in the cases of the murder of banker Sandro Girgvliani and the beating of deputy Valery Gelashvili.

Saakashvili was sentenced to three years in prison on the first charge, and six years on the second. In addition, he is a defendant in cases of dispersal of an opposition rally on November 7, 2007.

Currently, the courts are considering two cases – the pogrom of the Imedi TV company and the embezzlement of funds from the state budget.
