“My name is Rypke Bakker (1985) and I am a sports coordinator. I studied political science and history, followed by a master’s degree in Journalism and New Media at Leiden University. In the summer of 2010 I did an internship at the NUsportmagazine that collaborated with NU.nl and I was allowed to stay there. When the magazine stopped as a weekly magazine at the end of 2012, I made the switch to NU.nl. Now I am coordinator of the sports editors of NU.nl and reporter for football and athletics. As a sports reporter I mainly follow football – and in particular Ajax and the Dutch national team – and athletics. But I also regularly appear in other sports. For example, I reported on the Olympic Games in London (2012), Rio (2016) and Tokyo (2021).
