Russia’s Deputy Representative to the UN called the words of the West about the capture of Kiev crazy

Western speculation about how long it would take for Russian troops to capture Kiev in a potential invasion of Ukraine is insane and alarmist. About it on my Twitter declared First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Dmitry Polyansky.

“The madness and alarmism continues. <...> What if we said that the US could take London in a week and that would lead to 300,000 casualties? And it would be based on intelligence data that we would not disclose, ”Polyansky commented on the headline of The Washington Post, which says that Russia could capture Kiev in a couple of days and cause the death of 50 thousand civilians.

Earlier, a number of American media came out with headlines about possible casualties and consequences in the event of an armed clash between Russia and Ukraine. In particular, The Washington Post, The New York Times and Reuters wrote that up to 50 thousand citizens of Ukraine could become victims of the conflict among the civilian population. The publications cite anonymous sources in the US government.

WP announced the pulling of 70% of the “invasion forces” of Russia to the borders of Ukraine
