The short-length cartoon by Russian director Anton Dyakov “Boxballet” was included in the short-list of candidates for the Oscar, follows from listcompiled by the American Film Academy.
The cartoon is nominated for the Best Animated Short Film category, with 82 films initially nominated and only 15 shortlisted.
Duration of “Boxballet” – 15 minutes. In the center plot – a love story between boxer Eugene and ballerina Olga. This year the cartoon is already won in the nomination “Best Animation Work” at the festival “In short”, in September Dyakov handed over the main prize in the Short Meter nomination of the Ikar Prize.
The organizers of the “Oscar” will announce the full list of nominees on February 8 next year, the award ceremony will be held at the end of March.
