Russia will retaliate against British business if Britain imposes new sanctions on Russian business, Russian Ambassador to Britain Andrey Kelin said. The recording of the ambassador’s interview is available on the media platform “Looking”.
British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said earlier that London does not rule out the possibility of confiscation of property and assets of “Russian oligarchs” in England as part of tougher sanctions against Russia in case of escalation of tension around Ukraine.
Draft law on tougher sanctions against Russia will be considered in the British Parliament on January 31.
“We’ll see… Of course, we’ll take countermeasures… British business also works in Russia. Measures can always be taken on a reciprocal basis. So we’ll see,” Kelin concluded.
