Rospatent has registered a drone capable of charging from power lines – RBK

Specialists of the Tyumen Higher Military Engineering Command School named after V.I. Marshal Proshlyakov, the Russian Ministry of Defense has developed a drone project that can be recharged from power lines (power lines). Reported by “RIA News” with reference to a document registered by Rospatent.

According to the patent of the invention, the drone is an aircraft with several rotor propellers, in the lower part of which a disconnectable ring magnetic circuit is installed – current clamps, with which the drone hooks onto power lines to recharge its battery.

The purpose of such a project is to increase the duration of the flight both in peacetime and in wartime, in particular, for reconnaissance of enemy territory, the agency said.

According to the document, the drone will be monitored by a remote operator, whose task is to point the device to the power line and ensure it is closed with the power line. The drone is then charged in an inverted position, while retaining the ability to conduct reconnaissance and rotate the camera installed on it in the desired direction.
