With Le Fée at Sunderland, the Giallorossi are on the 22-year-old from Borussia Mönchengladbach, who played alongside Koné and in his home country they compare him to the Inter player. Bondo, Prati and Makoumbou are the alternatives
Enzo Le Fée said goodbye to Roma (departure for England at 2pm) and today he will be announced by Sunderland. Now Claudio Ranieri is expecting the first reinforcements, also in midfield where the coach would like an extra “combat” profile given that from the end of the month Roma will be busy on three fronts. Frattesi, at least in January, is an almost impossible dream. So Roma throws themselves on a Barella. Not the Inter champion, but Rocco Reitz who in Germany consider Nicolò’s German alter ego. The identikit is perfect: young, physically healthy and with a moderate salary. To give Koné a breather but also to support him in a hypothetical three-man midfield.
KONE SENDS IT
—
His name has been monitored for weeks by Giallorossi scouting. Koné himself knows Reitz well having played alongside him in recent seasons with Mönchengladbach. The relationship between the two is still strong as evidenced by the hearts placed by Reitz himself under the social posts after the Manu derby. Twenty-two years old, but an already grown-up temperament for Reitz who was born and raised in Borussia since he was seven and who in the summer had also been sought by Lazio. Before becoming one of the cornerstones of the German team and the under 21s, the midfielder had to go and “cut his teeth” on loan abroad. In the 2021/22 season and then also in the second half of the 2022/23 season, Reitz played in Belgium with the Sint-Truiden uniform where he was able to gain experience in a less pressing context of the Bundesliga before returning to base and becoming fundamental to the side of Koné.

Now the Frenchman himself calls Rocco to Roma, even if the competition is not little (Brighton especially likes him). Reitz, as mentioned, is an insertion fighter but his technical background also includes good ball-and-chain skills both in the setting and dribbling phases. Price? Around 20 million, the same as the clause which however will only be active from January 2026 as established in the latest contract renewal which brought the midfielder’s salary to around 1 million euros per season. Roma is aiming for something less also by virtue of the excellent relationship with Borussia.
the others

Another profile followed is that of Warren Bondo who also physically resembles Manu Koné a lot. The 21-year-old is one of Monza’s few bright spots and has already attracted the attention of Milan. He arrived two and a half years ago from Nancy for 700 thousand euros, and is now worth at least 8 million. A mega capital gain that would be useful for Monza also given the probable relegation at the end of the season. Immediately behind are Prati and Makoumbou, two players that Ranieri knows well having trained them at Cagliari. A backup plan is represented by Abdoulaye Doucourè (31 years old) who plays for Friedkin’s Everton and whose contract is expiring.
