Roland DG presents new dress from textile printer

The Japanese company Roland DG, a provider of digital print solutions, has shown its capabilities with a press release printed on a dress with its latest textile printer, the Texart XT-64OS-F.

Sewn in London and printed in Milan, the dress leverages the device’s capabilities in terms of white ink and bright colors, as well as the ability to print text.

“We worked with our Italian textile customers to design the device, so it was only right to continue working with creatives in the industry to bring the ‘Dress Release’ to life,” said Stephen Davis, EMEA Marketing Director at Roland DG.

The company worked with designer Fabia Goff to create the pattern. Goff, who has worked for brands like John Lewis and Laura Ashley, stated her intention that “the pattern is on trend and incorporates the bright colors we’ll see on the catwalks in 2022”.

The new textile printing machine is aimed at clothing printing and clothing manufacturing companies. It enables fashion houses to create prototypes of clothing or to make one-off items for a fashion show.

By using print-on-demand garments, the textile machine will reduce garment waste and help meet the growing demand for short runs in the garment and textile industries.

“We really enjoyed working with talented designers, sewers, photographers and models to turn our vision into reality, and we hope that this will inspire our customers to create their own unique garments “Said Davis.
