There is said to have been a mass brawl in Cologne. According to police, several people involved were injured.
After the Bundesliga game between 1. FC Cologne and Eintracht Frankfurt, there is believed to have been a mass brawl between rival fan camps. Several of those involved were injured, police said.
Passers-by reported a fight involving up to 100 people in Cologne-Ehrenfeld on Saturday evening. According to the police, it was said to have been a dispute “among suspected violent criminals from the football scene”. When the first officers arrived, those involved ran away in different directions.
After consulting with the public prosecutor’s office, the police cordoned off the area and later met around 30 of those suspected of being involved in the fight, some of whom were injured. After officers established their identities, they were able to leave. The police are investigating breach of the peace and grievous bodily harm.
