A Brussels Airlines plane on its way to Tenerife was stranded in Gran Canaria on Wednesday after it was struck by lightning. When the 155 passengers – who were almost at their final destination – were told that they would be flying back to Brussels due to a technical defect, a riot broke out. “Total chaos,” says someone who was on the plane. “The situation has gotten out of hand,” confirms Brussels Airlines.
