Retail consultancy Harper Dennis Hobbs builds Metaverse expertise

The British retail consultancy Harper Dennis Hobbs (HDH), based in London, intends to offer its expertise for the Metaverse in the future, the company said in a press release.

HDH, part of the Newmark Group, Inc., plans to create a new branch of its retail division focused on how retailers can best operate in Web 3.0. HDH refers to the third generation of the Internet as Web 3.0, which uses a machine-based understanding of data to create a data-driven environment. HDH wants to provide retailers with strategic advice on which platform is best suited to their products and strategy, and how their virtual stores should look and function.

According to HDH, the metaverse is becoming more and more important. Facebook changed its name to Meta last year, and brands such as Walmart and Ralph Lauren announced their intention to sell Web 3.0 products in the future. So far, HDH has primarily advised its trading partners on physical locations, but now a new field is being added. James Ebel, Chief Executive Officer of HDH: “With this knowledge, HDH plans to help retailers take their place in the metaverse and understand what resonates with and attracts users to ensure that consumers :deal with your brand in the virtual world”.

He adds: “The pandemic has helped retailers embrace change and adopt new methods to increase sales and brand awareness.”

HBH’s customers include Agent Provocateur, Bulgari, Cartier, Uniqlo and Zadig & Voltaire, according to their website.
