There will be a strike in regional transport across the country this Friday. Staff will stop working, they want a better collective labor agreement. The FNV union has called for this. Inter-city buses and trains will therefore be cancelled. But what is driving or not, and how do you get to work? That will probably remain unclear until the bus stop.
“We try as much as possible to drive the normal timetable,” regional carrier Arriva said in a statement on their website. “It will only be clear at the last minute whether rides are canceled due to the strike. If that is the case, it will be processed as soon as possible in the digital travel planners and apps.” So keep that in mind when you go out on Friday morning.
Transport company Hermes has the same message. They too cannot predict in advance which intercity buses and trains will run and which will not. A 24-hour strike has been announced at all Hermes parking facilities in Brabant, Eindhoven, Helmond, Reusel and Valkenswaard. But the impact remains unclear until the last minute. “The advice to travelers is therefore to consult current travel planners shortly before departure.”
FC Eindhoven
In the Kitchen Champion Division FC Eindhoven will play a match against Roda JC on Friday evening. Hermes cannot yet predict how many buses will run in the run-up to that game and warns fans to get to the Jan Louwers Stadium in other ways.
