FC Bayern and CFO Michael Diederich go separate ways. There had already been reports on the end of the collaboration on Wednesday.

The German record champion is converting his leadership. As FC Bayern officially announced on Thursday, CFO Michael Diederich will leave the club – on September 30th and thus around a year before the official end of the contract.

Reports from Wednesday suggested that there could be a separation because Diederich probably had an offer from the economy. In the meantime, it is clear: he is taking over a management position as a global co-boss of the corporate bank at Deutsche Bank.

Club President Herbert Hainer in the club announcement: “Michael Diederich informed us of open and constructive conversations that he will not extend his contract at Bayern.” The 59-year-old Diederich has been a member of the board since April 1, 2023, previously a member of the FC Bayern supervisory board. The representative of the deputy chairman of the board had a term until June 30, 2026.

Michael Diederich said: “After two very intensive and successful years on the board of FC Bayern AG, I decided to accept a new professional challenge. I would like to thank the supervisory board for the trust and my colleagues Jan-Christian Dreesen and Max Eberl for the collegial cooperation. Even after the end of my work, FC Bayern will remain my heart forever.”

Until further notice, club board member Jan-Christian Dreesen and sports director Max Eberl will implement the tasks of the board, as Bayern announced. A successor to Michael Diederich and the future division of tasks on the board will still be decided.
