President of the United States Donald Trump compared the structure built in front of the White House for the UFC to the Eiffel Tower. Among other things, the news covered the matter CNN.
On June 14, an event by the freestyle organization UFC will be held on the south lawn of the White House. A huge metal arch that is taller than the White House itself has already been built for the night of the match.

Tuesday on Trump’s Tiktok account a video was releasedwhere Trump commented on the structure. He compared it to the famous Eiffel Tower in Paris and hinted that the arch will not necessarily be dismantled after the UFC night.
– Many do not know that the Eiffel Tower was built in Paris in 1889. It was to be demolished right after the world exhibition. After that they said “We actually like that, let’s leave it up.” Well, it was never dismantled, Trump said, continuing:
– We are building something in front of the White House that is attractive to many people. There’s a big night of UFC fights on June 14th that I’m looking forward to. Maybe we’ll never crack it.

It is not known if Trump meant his comments as a joke or if he was serious.
According to CNN, keeping “Koura” would cause logistical problems. The President arrives at the White House and leaves via the south lawn, where the metal structure is currently located. Large events are also often organized in the area.
However, Trump has also previously wanted to leave his mark on the White House. During his term of office, he has carried out renovations in and around the historic building.
The construction costs of the White House UFC event are estimated at 60 million dollars, or about 51.7 million euros. Renewing the grass area alone costs 603,500 euros. Expenses are paid by the UFC organization.
