Aurélien Tchouaméni is the footballer that the Real Madrid sports management likes as a future replacement for Casemiro. Despite his youth, 21 years old, the midfielder is already a starter for Monaco and the French national team and has all the qualities to become direct competition for the Brazilian.

Whites’ interest made the head of his scouting department, Juni Calafat, travel to the Principality this week to meet with the footballer’s entourage and test Monaco’s willingness to open the door to his young talent.

The Monegasque club’s response made the Madrid representative’s hair stand on end. At the white club they were aware that the footballer’s progression has raised his price to crack levels, but they never expected Monaco’s claims to exceed 60 million.

The emergence of Manchester United has encouraged the club from the Principality to start an auction and its starting price is between 80 and 100 million, a price that Real Madrid is not willing to contemplate in any way.

Two and a half years before his contract expires, in June 2024, the madridista entity will apply the same formula that it used to bring Eduardo Camavinga this summer. His home club, Stade Rennes, dropped with a request for 60 ‘kilos’, but the midfielder ended up at the Santiago Bernabéu for 30 ‘kilos’.

Real Madrid hopes that history will repeat itself with Tchouaméni and that those 80 million at which Monaco has valued the young midfielder will become the 40 that Tchouameni has as a market price.
