Raf’s father was full of secrets

What if your father isn’t who you thought he was? Nigerian-born Francis Njotea carries a big secret. He whispers to his son Raf Njotea from his hospital bed: “Before I die, I want to tell the truth.” Francis is actually ten years older than he has always claimed. Later, when Francis does get better, he denies the story. They were hallucinations from the drugs, he says. But Raf’s interest has been piqued. In the immersive podcast series parent the Flemish screenwriter and presenter digs into his father’s past. With his personal story, he makes major themes such as migration, origin and identity tangible. Raf turns out to be a great storyteller who takes the listener on his exciting and sometimes moving journey of discovery.
