Queen Elizabeth breaks tradition, new dog is not a corgi

The love for dogs is passed down from generation to generation. But where the other royals prefer other breeds (a Jack Russell terrier or Labrador, for example), Elizabeth always owned corgis or dorgis – a cross between a Dachshund and a Corgi. That has now changed.

New dog for Queen Elizabeth

The Queen had decided not to take any new dogs, partly because of her age. But celebrating 70 years on the throne and holding sway in the United Kingdom naturally requires a suitable gift. Whether Lissy is indeed a gift to herself for that reason remains a mystery. But one thing is certain: it is remarkable that she has chosen a different breed.

Unfortunately, a photo of Elizabeth and her newest four-legged friend is not forthcoming. We are already looking forward to the first images.

Puppies against loneliness

After receiving two puppies from her son Andrew as a gift from her son Andrew shortly after the death of her beloved Philip, she now decides not only to break the tradition (of corgis), but also to return to her own rule: the dog family. home is expanded with the arrival of Lissy.

In 2017, she herself also imposed the rule not to take in new dogs, but Her Majesty eventually came back to that too. She now has her hands full with her dogs. In addition to Lissy, Elizabeth has Dorgi Candy and two corgis, one of which she named Muick.
