US fashion group PVH Corporation has appointed Sara Bland as executive vice president and chief strategy officer. The parent company of the Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein brands announced on Thursday that she will take up her new post on October 31 and will report directly to CEO Stefan Larsson in the future.

Bland comes from apparel group Kontoor Brands Inc., where she most recently held the position of EVP, Global Strategy. Previously, she held various leadership roles at well-known consumer goods companies such as GlaxoSmithKline and PepsiCo.

At PVH, Bland, in collaboration with CEO Larsson and the rest of the executive team, will “play a critical role in driving our strategy to realize the full potential of Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger and generate long-term, sustainable growth,” the company said.

The manager-designate brings “a rare combination” of skills, with both strategic and operational expertise, Larsson said in a statement. She is “very analytical yet customer and brand centric” and has successfully demonstrated that she can “partner with business leaders to execute strategy and deliver measurable bottom line improvements,” Larsson said.
