Ushakov: China reduced Putin’s delegation to the Olympics to six people due to the pandemic

At the Beijing Olympics, Russian President Vladimir Putin will be accompanied by six people, and not 20-25, as it would be in a “calm environment” without a pandemic, presidential aide Yuri Ushakov told reporters.

According to him, the delegation will include Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov, Rosneft head Igor Sechin and Ushakov himself.

“If the visit had taken place in a calm atmosphere, there would have been no coronavirus, then our delegation would probably consist of 20-25 people, and now, for obvious reasons, the visit is being carried out as part of a delegation of six people. This was agreed with the Chinese side,” said the presidential aide (quoted from “RIA News”).
