The duo’s friend, banker Euan Rellie, attended Oxford University with Maxwell and was a guest at several dinner parties she and Epstein hosted. There, Maxwell once described Andrew “as her friend,” Rellie tells The Telegraph. “I got the feeling that Prince Andrew and Ghislaine had probably been boyfriend and girlfriend in the past.”
Paul Page, a former palace police guard, makes similar claims. He and colleagues are said to have wondered if Andrew and Maxwell were “intimate” because of her regular visits to the palace. “From the way she could enter and exit the palace at will, we suspected she had an intimate relationship with Prince Andrew,” he says.
Queen Elizabeth’s son has been sued by Virginia Giuffre, who alleges she was abused by Andrew at the age of 17. The prince denies all accusations. Maxwell was previously found guilty of recruiting girls for Epstein, who committed suicide in a New York cell in 2019.
