Post-competition spot on the loose for Dalen, Pesse not yet safe

FOOTBALL – VV Dalen has done himself a disservice in the battle for a place in the postseason for a place in the 1st division. The Sunday second division team lost to SC Emmeloord (2-1), as a result of which the Drenthe club has dropped from place three to four in the 2nd division K in the ranking. And that place does not entitle you to dessert at the end of the competition.

Next week Dalen will play a crucial game, at home, against the new number 3 in this class: LAC Frisia 1883. That team now has – with two more games to play – one point more than Dalen. With a win, Dalen will regain the post-competition spot, but then the meeting with one of the two remaining title candidates: LSC 1890 will have to wait until the last day of play.

After 25 minutes, Emmeloord took the lead against Dalen. Marc Loosman shot in from close range from a corner by Thijs Lanters: 1-0. Tijmen Venhorst scored the equalizer against the ropes ten minutes later, after which Dalen had plenty of opportunities to take the lead but that didn’t happen.

In the second half there were opportunities for both sides and Dalen thought he would get a penalty just before time due to hands, but this was not judged that way by referee Boerema. In the 90th minute, Daan Zuidberg Dalen shot completely in a minor key: 2-1.

In this 2nd division K, Beilen has no chance for a prize after the 2-1 defeat at LAC Frisia and SV Pesse lost expensive points in the fight against relegation. With a win against competitor Drachten, the withemden would have been safe, but the Frisians won 2-1. Marco Hartman scored the goal for the team from Drenthe, which now has 21 points from 22 matches. Dracnten and Zuidwolde, who are now in a post-competition spot, have 18 and 17 points respectively, while closing in on Oerterp is 16 points.

In this class, the last number is relegated directly and the numbers 11 and 12 have to save their lives through the playoffs.
