Police find large arsenal after wild chase Vianen | Inland

The investigation started when officers saw a large, black sports bag being surrendered in the Comeniusstraat in Amsterdam. After the sports bag was handed over, two vehicles with Belgian number plates eventually drove off in the direction of the A10, the police reported.

The police decided to follow the two cars. A stop sign was ignored and a chase ensued. “Due to the enormous speeds and the accompanying danger, the officers had to stop the pursuit,” the police said. However, during this wild chase on the A2 near the exit to Vianen, the sports bag was thrown out of the window. “It turned out to be three automatic firearms and a handgun.” The A2 was closed to traffic for some time in connection with forensically securing the sports bag.

Shortly afterwards, one of the two vehicles with a Belgian registration was found at a parking lot in Breukelen. The vehicle has been seized and the two occupants have been arrested. Also in Utrecht, the police made four arrests in the investigation.

In the investigation, the police also searched a house in the Comeniusstraat. In that house, the police found several (automatic) weapons, ammunition and an amount of narcotics and cash. A woman (18) present in the house has been arrested.
