Police close Eindhoven coffee shop after raid: too large drug stock

The police raided the Indian coffee shop on Karel de Grotelaan in Eindhoven on Wednesday evening. The police say they found a “large amount of soft drugs” in the case and have closed the coffee shop.

According to the law, a coffee shop is not allowed to have more than 500 grams of soft drugs as trading stock. Indian went way beyond that on Wednesday, a police spokesperson reported. “A large amount of drugs has been found.” Police have yet to release any information about the reason for the raid.

Police will release more information on Thursday. “The detectives are currently still investigating.”

In that ongoing investigation, several Eindhoven buildings were checked on Wednesday. What was found there will be announced at a later date.
