The Eisbären Berlin have regained the top of the table in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).
The capital club beat the Augsburger Panthers 6:5 (2:1, 3:2, 1:2) on Thursday and replaced the Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven in first place, who beat defending champions Red Bull Munich 2:1 in the parallel game (0:1, 0:0, 1:0, 0:0, 1:0) after a penalty shootout.
Austin Ortega gave Munich the lead after 18 seconds, Ross Mauermann equalized (47th). Ziga Jeglic finally scored the decisive goal, but the success was not enough. Runner-up ERC Ingolstadt won 2-0 (1-0, 0-0, 1-0) at Düsseldorfer EG. Meanwhile, the Iserlohn Roosters continued their negative streak. The bottom team lost 0:3 (0:1, 0:1, 0:1) to the Nuremberg Ice Tigers and suffered their fourth defeat in a row.
