Pokémon Legends: Arceus | Leaker announces the absence of popular game mechanics

With Pokémon legends: Arceus is due for the first major release of the year in January. While the developer Nintendo is only sparingly publishing details about the new game, a well-known leaker recently announced the absence of some long-established game mechanics.

Fans of the series have to be prepared to miss numerous standard features of the earlier editions. While it is officially known that arenas and the top four will not appear, the leaker “Riddler_Khu” has now announced further innovations on Twitter.

No more wearable items?

Pokémon are said to be unable to carry items. In addition, Pokémon skills are allegedly no longer part of the game.

The ability to wear an item was introduced over 20 years ago as part of the second generation of games. Skills have existed since the third generation.

In addition, the subject of breeding in Pokémon Legends: Arceus should not play a role. The feedback on social media shows that many fans view the changes with skepticism.

Innovations announced elsewhere

In return, however, Nintendo has already announced that it has brought a breath of fresh air elsewhere. The combat mechanics in particular have been fundamentally revised.

For example, the game often no longer switches to an isolated battle screen. The strictly turn-based character of the fights has apparently also been softened.

In addition, many fans hope to be able to forego the usual linear gaming experience. In times of successful open world games, an adjustment in this regard was described as overdue in many places years ago.

Whether and to what extent the new game mechanics will cause positive reactions from Pokémon fans will be revealed from January 28th.
