Planes with returning Russian peacekeepers are met in the Moscow region

10 aircraft arrived at the Chkalovsky airfield near Moscow with Russian servicemen who took part in in a peacekeeping mission in Kazakhstan.

Total from Almaty 19 planes took off military transport aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces, as soon as they all arrive in the Moscow Region, a solemn ceremony will be held at the airfield with the participation of the command of the Airborne Forces.

The return of the peacekeepers of the member countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization from Kazakhstan has been going on for several days and should be completed by January 19. Earlier, units from Armenia, Belarus and Tajikistan, as well as Kyrgyzstan, left the republic.

The peacekeepers were sent to Kazakhstan at the request of the country’s president, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, after protests and riots broke out there. On January 13, the successful completion of the CSTO mission was announced.
