In the dispute over working conditions at Eurowings, the Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) pilots’ union called for a day-long strike at the Lufthansa subsidiary.

The labor dispute at the low-cost airline Eurowings lasted on Thursday from 00:00 to 23:59, VC announced on Tuesday.

The negotiations on the collective bargaining agreement at Eurowings have failed, VC continues. “Ten rounds of negotiations, two of them after the clear signal of the ballot, have not led to any significant rapprochement.”

A central requirement was the relief of the employees, for example by reducing the maximum flight duty times and increasing the rest periods. There have been no adjustments since 2015.
