Peskov called Biden’s words “destructive”

US calls for sanctions against the leadership of Russia can be called politically destructive. So says the press secretary Vladimir Putin Dmitry Peskov.

According to the Kremlin spokesman, sanctions are meaningless for any representative of the top leadership of Russia, reports RIA News.

When asked if Vladimir Putin still keeps his salary in the bank of Russia, Peskov answered “Absolutely.”

Meanwhile, State Duma speaker Vyacheslav Volodin commented on Washington’s statements about sanctions. In his opinion, in the understanding of Russian citizens, these restrictions are not against the president of the country, but against the choice of the people.

Former U.S. Republican Senator Mark Rubio introduced a bill, which provides for sanctions against a number of high-ranking Russian officials. Among them are Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

The restrictions include the freezing of assets in the United States, as well as the blocking of American visas.
