A car overturned in an accident on Europaweg-North in Assen tonight. One person has died as a result. Another passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The accident happened at the junction of the Europaweg-Noord with the Esakkerweg, it is unclear what exactly went wrong. No other vehicles were involved in the accident, according to police.
Ambulances were no longer able to rescue one of the victims on the spot, they received support from the Mobile Medical Team. “The help was no longer useful for one person, this person died on the spot from his injuries,” the police said. “In addition, at least one other person was seriously injured. This person was transported to the hospital.”
