Paul Matthijs is leaving Be Quick 1887

Be Quick 1887 has to look for a new trainer. Paul Matthijs will leave the fourth division team at the end of this season. The former professional of FC Groningen worked as a trainer at the Esserberg club for one year. Prior to tonight’s training, he informed the Be Quick playing group of his decision.

A key condition for Matthijs to extend his contract was the guarantee of being able to start the season with at least eighteen fully-fledged selection players. He wanted to prevent a repeat of this season, in which Be Quick started the competition with a trimmed selection. But the club management could not give him that guarantee.

Be Quick is in thirteenth place in the rankings of the fourth division D. It has collected 20 points in as many competition rounds and is in danger of relegation. On Saturday they will play DETO at home. The club from Vriezenveen is twelfth, with 21 points from 18 games.
