The endurance runner star blurted out direct words as soon as he stepped in front of the media.
Endurance runner Mustafa Muuse smashed his own record in the 5000 meters on Wednesday at the Paavo Nurmi Games. Immediately after the race, he makes it clear:
– I’m really not satisfied. This was a really tough race.
Muuse had a simple goal for the race: he wanted to break the more than 50-year-old Finnish record of 13:16.4, which Lasse Virén ran in 1972.
Mustafe Muuse will not be satisfied until he breaks Lasse Virén’s record. The same grass
– I cannot be satisfied until I set the Finnish record. Until then, I’ll keep training.
The Turku Sports Association’s man’s time of 13:24.80 was therefore about eight seconds behind SE. The runner improved his previous record by about five seconds. So if the results improve at this rate, SE is not necessarily very far away.
– I am hard on myself and because of that I believe that I have become this good. I guess it’s a professional mistake.
Oh, the rabbit
Muuse believes that Finland’s record was not created because of failed tactics. In particular, the hare kept teasing the runner.
Mustafe Muuse is hard on himself. The same grass
– The hare didn’t go quite as fast as I wanted.
– Unfortunately, it didn’t quite get up to speed. But this is it, everything doesn’t always go as planned.
Muuse says that he trained like a “13-minute guy”.
– That the result will come at some point. This is results sports, being at the top depends on so little, Muuse sums up.
