Lyon coach Paulo Fonseca was very happy about the victory of his team. He lost his version during the game against Brest.

At that moment Paulo Fonseca, coach of Olympique Lyon, did not think. The 51-year-old was burning against Stade Brest on Sunday, which his team won 2-1 at the end.

In the final phase, the team led by referee Benoît Millot checked a possible penalty decision for Stade Brest. Millot signaled that he wanted to include the Var to check the controversial scene. Fonseca did not fit. He jumped up from the bank and gestured game on the sidelines.

The referee then made his way to Fonseca to show him the red card. Fonseca leaned forward, roared the referee and had an aggressive posture compared to Millot. The coach was also close to the referee. This showed Fonseca the red card.

The penalty for Brest was not given in the end and Fonseca’s excitement was free. The coach subsequently said at the DAZN microphone: “I apologize for this gesture, I shouldn’t do that. Football causes us to make false gestures, I apologize.”

Nevertheless, the campaign will have consequences and could result in a seven -month lock for Fonseca by the disciplinary commission, as RMC Sport reports. At the end of February, Pablo Longoria, President of Olympique Marseille, was closed to 15 games because he had seriously attacked a referee.
