The Los Angeles Rams continue to set the course for the future in the NFL. In addition to the Matthew Stafford personnel, it is apparently also clarified who will protect the quarterback in the coming season.
As reported, among other things, “ESPN” on the weekend, they have Rams Again with an offensive Tackle Alaric Jackson on a new deal. The 26-year-old binds himself to the RAMs for three more years and collects up to $ 57 million, of which $ 37 million are completely guaranteed.
After a strong season, this is the deserved payment day for the offensive Tackle, which was sorted in 20th place under the offensive Linemen in the previous season of “Pro Football Focus”.
That season, the Undrafted Free Agent from 2021 played under a restricted free agent tender for $ 4.89 million. In 2024 he was on the pitch in 14 games, and he missed the start of the NFL season due to a lock, the RAMS playoff because of an injury.
NFL: Stafford also remains
Even before Jackson’s extension, it became known that quarterback Matthew Stafford will also be preserved for the Rams. A few weeks ago, the latter had permitted to probe the market and had done so.
In the meantime there was a change to the Las Vegas Raiders or the New York Giants. In the end, the talks with these teams were only good for finding a financial framework, in which a possible offer of the RAMs could move.
Accordingly, this is a sum of 90 to 100 million for two years. Stafford and the RAMs have agreed on a corresponding new structuring of his contract. Stafford originally had only four million in guarantees for his other two contracts of contract.
