The House of Representatives wants the cabinet to do everything it can to ensure that no extra gas has to be extracted from the Groningen field this year. State Secretary Hans Vijlbrief (Mining) was unable to give any guarantees on Wednesday, but said he was busy “looking for alternatives”. Although closing companies or turning off the gas tap to Germany unilaterally is not the solution, according to him.
