OVERVIEW. Number of infections is already rising a lot less quickly, decrease in the number of patients in intensive care

The number of coronavirus infections continues to rise, but at a slower rate. Between 5 and 11 January, there were an average of 24,162 infections in our country every day. That is an increase of 51 percent compared to the seven days before. Yesterday there was an increase of 71 percent. There are slightly more people in hospitals as a result of Covid-19, but the pressure on intensive care units continues to decrease. This is apparent from preliminary figures from health institute Sciensano.
