OVERVIEW. First signs of omikron are visible: Monday already peak of more than 13,000 new cases

The first signs that a new wave of corona infections with the omikron variant is coming are visible in the most recent figures from health institute Sciensano. Although the average figures are still going down according to the most recent figures from health institute Sciensano, there are already more than 13,000 infections in the tables for Monday December 27. That number has not yet been confirmed and could therefore rise.
