In Russia, OSAGO can rise in price by almost 50%. The bill of the Ministry of Finance on increasing the limit of payments in case of harm to health under OSAGO to two million rubles and the abolition of accounting for wear and tear of car parts when calculating compensation received support from the Bank of Russia, reports “News”.
This can increase the cost of a mandatory insurance policy by 48%, or by 2,567 rubles.
In an interview with Sputnik radio, Doctor of Economics Konstantin Ordov noted that growth in the cost of OSAGO was expected, given how expensive cars have risen.
He recalled that last year the increase in prices for new models amounted to 20 percent or more, but automakers say that this is not the limit. The rise in prices will continue. For this reason, both spare parts and repairs have risen in price.
Even if the OSAGO policy rises in price by 48%, it will still be a moderate increase in prices, the economist believes.
